If an outboard is your propulsion of choice or a back up for windless days then don’t worry about fuel costs. The easily driven hull-form of the Nelson Lugger doesn’t require much horsepower. A 2, or at most 4hp, outboard is all you’ll need and the flared topsides give a nice dry ride.
